AEG

AEG Presents LLC is the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company. For more than 20 years, AEG has played a pivotal role in transforming the live entertainment industry.

The Client

World’s leading sports and live entertainment company for more than 20 years.

Through AEG’s global network of venues and sponsorship activations, as well as their powerful brands – including sports franchises, music brands, integrated entertainment districts, and ticketing platforms – AEG delivers innovative experiences that give the world reason to cheer.

The Challenge

As a global entertainment company, working across so many different markets, mediums, and channels, AEG’s business processes and information management needs are incredibly complex.

In order to manage event and venue logistics, market localization, third party vendor and group management, and dozens of marketing campaigns from one central location, AEG partnered with a software development company to create Maestro – a custom Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, tailored to their specific needs. Unfortunately development of this system stalled after deployment, leaving AEG with system that they were unable to maintain and only partially met their needs.

The Solution

As the EXLRT team integrated with AEG to optimize the complex existing codebase, AEG lead development cycles.

AEG originally contracted with EXLRT to provide support and maintenance on the Maestro system while AEG decided how to best proceed internally. During this initial three-month contract, EXLRT was able to identify several problem areas and proposed solutions for functional design, individual features, and technical delivery.

The main objective for EXLRT is to integrate all marketing cost and campaign for each market and event into Maestro’s central hub.

This led to a more robust partnership with EXLRT as AEG tapped them to develop and deliver new features according to the Maestro roadmap. This includes marketing and advertising collateral, costs, and results across TV, radio, social media, and print.

Power of Microsoft Azure’s cloud services and infrastructure, and the latest front-end technologies

Leveraging the power of Microsoft Azure’s cloud services and infrastructure, as well as the latest front-end technologies, such as React/Redux, Webpack, Node.js, and Express, EXLRT continues to develop the Maestro feature set – successfully building microservices to integrate internal and external third-party data sources, as well as social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more.

The Outcomes

While development of Maestro is ongoing, EXLRT has stabilized the legacy code, introduced code quality guidelines, and delivered improved performance and usability of the application through new development.

This has enabled AEG to work faster and smarter, all while reducing their overall business costs.

Future plans with AEG include continued refinement of existing code and custom development of new features as provided in the Maestro roadmap.
